Details About Changes

Tuesday, May 5, 2020

We are getting a lot of questions about how things are going to work once we get the approval to reopen. I'd like to take a few moments to clarify some things and give you an idea of what to expect going forward.

The county commissioners will be meeting tomorrow, Wednesday May 6th, to discuss the possible reopening of Haspin Acres. If all goes well, we hope to receive our final list of requirements and to be granted permission to reopen. Then, on Thursday, May 7th, we will announce the commissioners' decision on Facebook and our website, along with our new policies and procedures, if we are allowed to reopen. We will likely be required to limit the number of customers we allow to enter the park, at least for a while, so we are prepared to implement a pre-registration requirement if need be.

Now, a word about our pre-registration...First and foremost, payment will NOT be required in advance. You will NOT have to pay anything until you get to the park. Our pre-registration requirement will work more like an RSVP. You let us know in advance when you are arriving and when you are leaving and how many people are in your group, and you essentially "reserve" that many spots on our count sheet. Once our count sheet is full, no more names will be taken for that date. This is being done only to help us keep track of how many people will be coming to the park. We MUST be able to control the amount of traffic coming to the park so we don't have a repeat of what got us shut down in the first place.

Also, we have created a new email address that will be used ONLY for pre-registration. Do NOT try to pre-register through Facebook, Facebook Messenger, or our regular email address. We will reveal the new email address on Thursday if we have been granted permission to reopen.

Please bear with us as we make the changes that are being required of us. We would prefer it if we didn't have to do these things, but in order to reopen, we must follow the rules as they have been given to us. We realize these new policies and procedures are inconvenient, not only to you but to us as well. These new procedures have not been used by us before, so we don't know how well they will work out. We realize there may be some glitches along the way, and we hope that you will be patient with us as we figure out how to best implement these changes. Hopefully, this will not last very long and we can go back to normal ways of doing things in a short period of time. In the meantime, please know that we are doing our best to get you back to doing what you love to do...riding, racing, and wheeling with us at Haspin Acres!
